ST. FRANCIS COMMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP BUILDINGwww.stfrancishealth.org/communityrelationshipsWhen Sterling High School burned down in 1967, its loss had an unfortunate impact on the community that was left behind. This year, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System announced the funding for a full-time Director of Community Relationship Building, who will work within Sterling to create a healthy community. This includes taking specific and measurable actions to create advances in housing, education, employment, public safety, and social justice.BIRTH OF THE PHOENIX LEAGUESterling Phoenix League is more than just an idea. It is a concept. It is a call to action. It is a challenge for the community and those with a heart for positive change to see Sterling resurrected from the ashes to once again be a place of vibrancy, health, community, and hope for all.Mission: Revitalize and systemically improve the Sterling Community through grassroots and strategic collaborations, partnering closely if not lead by the concerns and voices of the Sterling Community (i.e. residents and key stakeholders) so that Sterling is an affordable and healthy neighborhood for families, seniors, youth, and adults of various backgrounds. How: Team/Objective oriented approach centered around key concerns/priorities identified by community input and surveying. Objectives and master plan(s) created in close collaboration with residents of Sterling.
